You want to create your own Freewarmap, but you don't know, how to?
No problem, here is a little introduction:

What do you need?

1:Editor[*klick here*](Editor is in German language..)

2:Java*klick here*


Where do you get the pictures?

There is no way to get finish pictures, but you can search pictures and edit them.

Whats important for the pictures?
-Size 50*50
-The brink of the pictures, there must be a "shadow"! You can add the rand on *this site*
or follow the direction in *this german thread*( There are enough pictures, and its easy to understand without speaking
german.)
-Never cut one big picture, and make a Freewarmap!
-The finish map, should not me to big!


How to compile the map?
Add all your pictures in the editor and if you think your map is ready for presenting other player click on "Karte -> Karte erzeugen". Save it and load it up at your Website or a Freehoster(Imageshack etc....)


After all
Don't destroy the pictures, save everyone, thats very important!!
Then create a Thread, give your map a name, invent a good story for the map and create a survey like this:
Should this map be in Freewar?
[x]Yes, because..
[x]No, because..

If your map is good and many user choose [x]Yes, an Admin will maybe come in contact with you to integrate your map in the Freewarworld. Then you must create a .xml file, send this and all your pictures via E-Mail to him!

One stupid Question. If an player create a map in the britishforum and the developer think that is a great idea, get the german forum user in there Forum the idea too? I ask because I think that Ideas from other nationalities could be queite interesting for the other worlds in Germany.

First of all, British have to discover the map, then the tool and finally in some months they will propably create their first maps, which will be rather assumptions than good maps:

@TC: I was thinking about asking for this tool because it didn't exist for some time, so I was missing it.

I think it will be much more easier for people to have a complete manual in English. Consequently, there is no need to poste the map editor if it is in German.
Furthermore, the manual of the german forum is useless no matter how many pictures there are because no one would ever create a new map if he/she has to look in a forum with a foreign language and to hope that the pictures are self-explanatory.

And I totally agree on Este Vao because if I would play a new game I would not waste my time with a tricky map editor in a language I do not understand, insteat would enjoy the game.

It should only be a manual
And on the link to the german forum u only see on the pictures how to make the "shadow" with Photoshop, not more

Yeah, but perhaps it is easier to copy the pictures and put them in a thread, so that there is a complete manual. Where is the use if you have to search - on your own - the rest in different forums?

It is much more easier if the map editor is translated in englisch.. it should not be that great deal of work. - But for now I don't think that there is a need of the editor anyway.

I have a little question: Is it possible or even planned that the English server has some other Maps as the German servers or does the English server get the same ones? Because maybe the English Forum gets some new map-editorians that create great maps which aren't proposed in the German Forum.

My English skills are not the best but I hope you understood what I wanted to say

I think in both versions will be the same maps.

I think so, too. It's the same game with different languages... Don't think that the english version will develop itself to an "new" game like Freewar2...

What will happen in the following case: Someone who only uses the English Forum creates a map that is great and Sotrax thinks that this map is capable for freewar, will the map be included in World 1 or in Welt 1 first?

In German Welt 1.

I'd very much welcome the idea of The german and english worlds growing apart at some point.
I know it might never be realized ue to various reasons but i'd definately like it.

I hope some of the english players will come up with some great ideas here as well.
of course I assume it will also take it's time until useful maps will be proposed, but eventually we'll get some awesome new inputs here as well.

Well as our admin doesnt even care about the ideas of the english world and as the players of world 1 dont ever look in here there is no real meaning to any map or other idea someone posts in here is there?
